The avatars of Vishnu

quote:

The 10 incarnations of Vishnu are called, avatars, meaning 'one who descends'. They take progressively more developed forms from aquatic to mammal to human. Their stories have had a profound influence on Hindu culture. They are: Matsya the fish; Kurma the tortoise (turtle); Varaha the boar, who rescued plant earth from the bottom of the universe; Narasimha the man-lion, who protected the boy Prahad; Vamana the dwarf, for defeated the demon Bali; Parasurama the warrior, who defeated the war-like kings and established peace; Rama the good king, Krishna the cowherd and his brother Balarama, Buddha the teacher, who taught non-violence and compassion, and Kalki the slayer, who will come at the end of this age riding a white horse to kill the demons and inaugurate a new cycle of the universe.
Thus from outside, Vishnu reassures the good that he will always ensure that evil never triumphs. Meanwhile he is also revered as Antaryami, the 'one within', the eternal friend who lives in the heart of each being and gives inner wisdom and guidance.

The similarities just keep on showing up.
"A slayer who will come at the end of this age riding on a white horse to kills the demons and inaugurate a new cycle of the universe". Doesn't this sound like a second-coming on a cloud to take all the believers to eternal life?
